We are looking for a
Medical Records Specialist to join our new collaborative maternity practice. This job is
fully remote. We're searching for an individual who is thoughtful and passionate about providing a best-in-class patient experience, detail-oriented, and excited to join a dynamic and innovative team. This teammate will work directly with our Customer Experience and Clinical Operations teams to maintain the completeness and integrity of our medical records and assist with document review and processing. The role is part-time with an expectation of 20 hours a week at a rate between 16.00-18.50/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the process of obtaining medical records for patients transferring care into our practice, including reviewing for completeness and following up with patients and providers as necessary
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and protection of patient health information (PHI)
- Handle external medical record requests, including obtaining required release forms from patient, sending records in a timely manner, and documenting fulfillment of the request
- Upload and map external medical records into our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system quickly and accurately when received
- Route inbound faxed records and documents for processing as needed
About You:
- Passionate about improving maternity care through a combination of clinical care, technology, patient empowerment and education
- Ruthlessly organized and detail-oriented in your daily tasks
- Committed to providing outstanding service in the maternal healthcare space
- Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with both internal and external stakeholders
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent professional experience
- 1-2 years of experience working with Electronic Medical Records
- Prior experience working with Athena and/or prenatal care medical records a plus
- Spanish or other non-English language proficiency a plus
- Data entry speed of 40 keystrokes per minute required
Oula offers a competitive total rewards package which includes base salary, and comprehensive benefits. Exact compensation inclusive of salary and any bonuses is determined based on a number of factors including experience and skill level, location, and qualifications which are assessed during the interview process.
