Position Overview
The Junior Embryologist will work as part of Pollin’s IVF Laboratory team, assisting in daily laboratory procedures and supporting all aspects of embryology operations. Under the guidance of the IVF Laboratory Director and senior staff, the Junior Embryologist will gain hands-on experience with assisted reproductive technologies (ART) and develop the technical and analytical skills required for a career in reproductive science.
This position is ideal for an early-career professional eager to contribute to patient care, learn advanced laboratory techniques, and grow within a progressive, high-performing fertility clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily embryology and andrology laboratory procedures, including sample preparation, oocyte handling, insemination setup, and embryo culture assistance.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, ensuring data integrity and traceability.
- Assist with embryo grading, cryopreservation, and quality control processes under supervision.
- Prepare culture media and laboratory consumables following established protocols.
- Participate in equipment maintenance, calibration, and environmental monitoring.
- Adhere to all laboratory safety, quality assurance, and ethical standards.
- Collaborate closely with embryologists, physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to support seamless patient care.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement and innovation within the lab.
- Stay informed about current developments in embryology and assisted reproductive technologies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, reproductive sciences, embryology, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in a clinical embryology or related laboratory environment (IVF experience an asset but not required).
- Strong understanding of cell biology and laboratory best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow protocols precisely.
- Demonstrated interest in reproductive medicine and patient-centered care.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to learning and professional growth within the field of embryology.
