Provides accurate patient scheduling, registration and insurance processing. Maintains accurate patient records and department logs as required.
Principle Responsibilities
- Patient scheduling and registration
- Answers phones promptly and schedules, verifies or re-schedules appointments.
- Collects and enters all required patient scheduling information into system.
- Verifies demographic and insurance information, updates as needed.
- May collect copay and issue a receipt.
- May conduct charge review, collection and entry.
- Assures accurate patient orders are received.
- Instructs patient and staff regarding special instructions and preparation.
- Greets and checks in patients upon arrival.
- Maintain departmental records, reports and files
- Maintain patient records and department logs as required.
- Prints and distributes reports as required.
- May update scheduling procedure manual.
- May be accountable for office supply ordering and stocking.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
- 1 year of scheduling experience required for High Risk Perinatal
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Vocational or Technical Training in medical field
- 2 to 5 years of medical office experience, including scheduling and registering, within an automated environment
- Working knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel
Physical Demands
- Sedentary:
- Lifting weight up to 10 lbs. occasionally, negligible weight frequently
- This position will require six to eight weeks of onsite training at the Minneapolis/Midtown Doctors Building. After training, the position will be primarily remote. There could be occasional requirements for on-site meetings.
- 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two-week pay period)
- 8-hour, day shifts
- No weekends
This role requires critical thinking skills and complex scheduling of patients in a clinical or hospital setting. Experience working in Women's Health or OBGYN is recommended.
Pay Range
Pay Range: $20.78 to $31.56 per hour
The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
