The opportunity
The Team Leader – Enhanced Maternal and Child Health (EMCH) is responsible for leading and coordinating the delivery of the EMCH Program within Hobsons Bay City Council. This role ensures the program supports families with additional needs by providing responsive, high-quality maternal and child health services in accordance with state guidelines and council standards.
The position provides clinical supervision, professional development, and operational oversight to a multidisciplinary team. It also works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure vulnerable families are supported through a holistic, integrated service model.
- Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the EMCH Program, ensuring compliance with State guidelines and Council standards.
Provide clinical supervision, leadership, and mentoring to EMCH staff including nurses, social workers, and family support workers.
Oversee service quality, program delivery, and continuous improvement in line with MCH and Enhanced MCH frameworks.
Monitor program data (CDIS), reporting, and outcomes to support service planning and evaluation.
Facilitate staff training, development, and performance appraisals.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support vulnerable families and ensure coordinated care.
Ensure adherence to policies, OH&S, child safety, and risk management protocols.
Contribute to service development, project delivery, and funding opportunities.
Temporarily manage a clinical caseload during peak periods as needed.
Provide leadership across related programs such as Outreach, Sleep and Settling, Out of Home Care, Early Start Kindergarten, and others.
What you'll need to succeed
- AHPRA regist rat ion as a nurse and midwife, plus post grad qualifications in Child & Family Health
- 3+ years’ experience in MCH, ideally in an Enhanced program
- Strong leadership and case coordinat ion skills
- Knowledge of community services and supports for vulnerable families
- Experience with program planning, evaluation, and professional development
