The opportunity
We’re looking for a friendly and capable Administration Support Officer to join our Maternal and Child Health (MCH) team at Hobsons Bay City Council.
In this important front-line role, you’ll assist families with babies and young children by providing excellent customer service and administrative support across our MCH programs. You’ll work in a supportive team that delivers services like Universal and Enhanced MCH, immunisations, parenting programs, and more.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, values accuracy, and is passionate about helping local families.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer phone and online enquiries with care and professionalism
- Book and manage MCH appointments, including birth notifications
- Maintain accurate client records using systems like CDIS
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Support other Community Life teams during busy periods
- Order clinic supplies, update reports, and help onboard new staff
- Suggest ways to improve services and share ideas with the team
What You’ll Need
- A current Working with Children Check (mandatory)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience in customer service, especially in busy or community settings
- Good computer and data entry skills (CDIS experience is a plus)
- Excellent time management and organisation
- A team player attitude and willingness to help others
