Kindbody’s clinically managed program covers the full spectrum of reproductive health, including both female and male fertility, which encompasses fertility assessments and education, fertility preservation, genetic testing, in vitro fertilization (IVF), donor and surrogacy services, and adoption, as well as a full continuum of reproductive care including physical, mental, and emotional support.
About the Role
As an experienced Controller reporting to our Chief Accounting Officer, you will be working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment where you will be relied on for your expertise, professionalism, and collaboration. This role is a Full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the financial department to guide all operations for accounts receivable, billing, and collections
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
- Navigate and manage current patient billing software as an administrator
- Oversee company-wide budget compliance
- Maintain all bank accounts and cash balances
- Prepare timely and accurate analysis of month-end and year-end financial reports for the executive team
- Manage daily cash flow; prepare cash-flow reports and project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals,
- Monitor banking activities; Reconcile all bank accounts of the organization monthly
- Find and report areas of significant negative variances in which department and unit corrective action plans can be activated
- Pay all company bills
- Reconcile the corporation's monthly credit cards
- Maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard the financial assets of Kindbody to protect against fraud and modify as needed.
- Administer the clinical department encounter system to ensure the clinic is efficiently reimbursed for all labs, procedures, and work completed by clinic staff. Ensure resolution of front-end revenue cycle issues and provide analytic support as needed
- Perform month-end close with Electronic Medical Records software system
- Work with insurance companies in negotiations of fee schedules and contracts
- Oversee the invoicing for provider service contracts
- Coordinate with departmental management, legal staff, and others reviewing and approving contracts
- Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations
- Conducts self in accordance with Kindbody’s team member Handbook
- Maintains strictest confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
Who You Are
- MUST have Fertility / Healthcare Experience
- Master’s degree in finance or business required, CPA preferred
- Eight years of private practice financial management is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices
- Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices, as well as Insurance Companies Rules and Regulations
- Must be well-organized and detail-oriented
- Knowledge of Accounting Principles, Quickbooks, and Financial Reporting
- Knowledge of Organizational development, human resources, and program operations
- Knowledge of appropriate methods of setting up corporations and assessing management fee structures for medical clinics in a private equity environment
