Your Role

The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing phlebotomy and andrology laboratory procedures for patients coming in for cycle monitoring and follow-ups. This includes but not limited to, blood collection and processing, preparing specimens for semen analysis, DFI, IUI/TDI, as well as handling basic administrative tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

Performing blood collection, processing, and data entry.
Performing Semen Analysis, DNA Fragmentation Index Test and preparing semen samples for IUI and TDI.
Receiving frozen samples from sperm banks and maintaining associated documentation
Documenting patient results, maintaining sample logbooks and tracking frozen sample inventory
Routine monitoring of the performance of critical laboratory equipment and performing basic troubleshooting on a variety of laboratory instruments to ensure optimal function
Maintaining cleanliness of the lab
Following safety rules, health regulations and preventive measures in the performance of laboratory duties and responsibilities
Other related duties may be assigned
The company has the right to add more responsibility or change the schedule based on the clinic needs

Skills & Requirements

2+ years of Medical Laboratory Technician with fertility experience an asset
Experience in Accuro and Baby Sentry an asset
Good understanding of medical terminology required
Computer data entry experience required
Experience with using Vitros Blood Analyzer is an asset
