This is a Casual/Per-Diem position with a varied schedule that may include days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Position is based in La Jolla but has potential to teach at various sites (Mercy San Diego, Chula Vista, and Rancho Bernardo).

The Perinatal Educator for Scripps is a Childbirth Educator and/or a Certified Lactation Educator/Counselor. In addition, they are responsible for…
- Teaching standardized perinatal education programs throughout the Scripps Healthcare System.
- The Educator is an active team member who works closely with the Supervisor in the development of and implementation of perinatal education programs.
- The Educator performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing, education, or another field.
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Accomplished adult and/or child teaching skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to function with minimal supervision, bilingual an advantage, strong personal and professional commitment to adult and/or child education.
- Previous experience with adult and/or child learning systems/theory.
- Certified Childbirth Educator and/or Certified Lactation Educator or Counselor Course Completed Certificate with one year teaching experience in Perinatal Education.
Required Certification:
- Childbirth Education and/or Lactation Educator certification.

Position Pay Range: $30.58-$44.41/hour
