Position Summary
The
Physician Assistant works closely with the supervising physician to coordinate a course of treatment for patients in the
ambulatory care setting: perform histories, physical exams, order and collect lab and diagnostic studies and interpret data to formulate a diagnosis or treatment plan. The PA will also serve as a first assist in
OB/GYN surgery cases and will perform any other procedures as assigned by the supervising physician. This may include
pre-and post-natal OB Care, and pre- and post-operative care, patient education and discharge.
Work Experience
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated expertise in OB/GYN surgery
- Knowledgeable regarding OB/GYN PA scope of practice.
- Able to perform duties as first assist in surgery.
- Demonstrated expertise in surgical first assist procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal and conflict resolution abilities.
- Independent performer.
Required Experience
- Current California Physician Assistant license
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant School
- One to three (1-3) years direct patient care clinical experience.
- One to three (1-3) years of surgical first assist experience
- Evidence of continuing education and self-development to support license requirements
- Board Certification: Board certified by the National Certification Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
