We work closely with families across the GTA, offering personalized, in-home care that is warm, informed, and empowering. As we expand, we are seeking compassionate, experienced professionals to join our team of independent contractors, people who are as passionate about restorative postpartum care as we are.
About the Role
We are currently prioritizing Overnight Postpartum Doulas who can be the calm, capable presence families rely on during the night. You’ll support newborn care, safe sleep, and infant feeding while ensuring parents are able to rest and recover. You are intuitive, gentle, and confident in your skills , a source of both support and education.

- Comfortable working independently and respectfully in client home
- Passionate about postpartum wellness and family-centered care
- Calm, flexible, reliable and confident in navigating a range of family dynamics
- Great conversationalists who know how to listen, connect, and hold space
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing in-home overnight care for newborns (8–12 hour shifts
- Supporting feeding (breast/chest, bottle, or combo) and safe sleep routine
- Implementing responsive infant sleep strategies
- Soothing, burping, changing, tracking feeds and sleep
- Offering gentle guidance and evidence-based education to families
- Supporting maternal rest, emotional wellness, and confidence
- Light baby-related tasks (e.g. bottle prep, laundry, tidying nursery)
- Maintaining a non-judgmental, respectful, and nurturing presence
Must-Haves:
- Availability for overnight shifts (10 PM – 6 AM or similar)
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) or willingness to obtain one before starting
- Doula training or certification (or currently enrolled) from a recognized organization
- Valid Infant CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience caring for newborns and/or families postpartum
- Ability to travel across the GTA
- Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain as a contractor)
Bonus If You Have:
- Advanced training or experience in Lactation Education, Sleep Consulting, or Postpartum Confinement Care
- Carrot-approved doula status (we provide support to help you become approved)
- Certification from recognized doula training programs such as Cornerstone Birth Work, Doula Training Canada, Bebo Mia, DONA or Pro Doula
- Additional relevant credentials, for example: ECE, RPN, RN, ND, RMT, MSW
- Experience working with multiples, preemies, or NICU graduates
- Multilingual skills or lived experience that reflects the diverse communities we serve
Schedule & Availability
- We are hiring for overnight shifts (typically 10PM–6AM or 8PM–6AM)
- Minimum availability of 2–3 nights per week, including weekends and some holidays
- Flexible, client-based scheduling
- Must be able to travel within a 50 km radius of your home
