JOB OVERVIEW

IMMEDIATE OPENING - $1500 SIGN-ON BONUS

State of the art gynecology practice looking for an experienced, full-time Insurance Verification specialist. Offering very competitive compensation and incentives as well as a full benefits package. The ideal candidate must possess expert insurance verification experience in a medical practice setting, gynecology is a big plus. Candidate must have exceptional customer service skills, multitasking, and attention to detail. This position is responsible for verifying insurance benefits for all services including surgeries, collecting fees as well as the scheduling and coordination of patient appointments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES

Candidate must have expert knowledge in insurance verification for a medical practice. Must be fluent with all insurance verification portals, authorizations and referral processes.
Have a minimum of 1 year insurance verification experience in a gynecology office a big plus.
The candidate must possess very strong organization skills and experience with efficiently managing a mutli-provider schedule.
The candidate must have strong experience with EHR/EMR. Experience with Athenahealth a big plus.
Check-out patients, collect fees, and schedule appointments.
Perform insurance verifications via online resources as well as by telephone.
Have a strong understanding of insurance verification and benefits.
Provide front desk coverage as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

Expert knowledge of the medical insurance mangement process, insurance verifications, authorizations, referrals, insurance portals, etc.
Exceptional organization skills and customer service skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong experience in managing schedules
Experience with EHR/EMR system. Experience with Athenahealth a big plus.
Professional conduct, and oral and written communication skills to effectively gather information, ask questions, and discuss problems with internal personnel, patients, and providers
Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs and meet required timelines/deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Positive and cooperative manner in working and communication with individuals at all levels of the organization
Strong work ethic
Must be dependable and reliable

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years experience with insurance verifications, gynecology experience highly preferred.
Strong proficiency with EHR/EMR. Strong knowledge of Athenahealth ideal.
Computer literate and keyboard proficient.
Proficiency with MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Knowledge of telephone etiquette.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
