Opportunity Highlights
This CNM position is located at Charlotte OB/GYN. It is a full scope midwifery position working in labor and delivery (inpatient) and office setting (ambulatory). The CNM functions independently while collaborating with the supervising physicians. We provide care for all women with obstetrical and gynecologic needs.
This position includes one 24-hour call shift and 2 office days per week. The CNM team works very closely together and covers call/office when emergent issues arise. Overtime opportunities are also available. We have a very competitive salary, benefit package and bonuses.
We are a large busy group of 15 physicians and 7 CNMs. Looking to add an 8th CNM. Charlotte OB/GYN has 5 offices in various locations in Charlotte. The practice delivers over 2000 babies per year with the CNM group delivering their own patients which averages 600-700 births. We first assist with C-sections, perform OB triage, and postpartum rounds
Essential Functions
Assesses health status utilizing advanced physical examination and medical history skills, and designs individualized health care management plans in collaboration with other health professionals
Manages health care within protocols mutually agreed upon by physician and team members
Identifies abnormal findings early and initiates appropriate intervention
Assesses and provides support or the cultural, psychosocial, language and physically challenged need of the family unit
Provides health care management, functioning within the guidelines of the Nursing Practice Act, the Medical Practice Act, other regulatory agencies
Serves as a role model/clinical resource in all aspects of job performance
Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, find the ability to prioritize and concentrate
Assesses own practice needs, as well as those of the other members of the healthcare team, and develops methods to meet those needs
Participate on committees and in research as appropriate
Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment and supplies. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms. Must possess intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity. Must have the ability to react and perform in stressful situations
Education, Experience, And Certifications
- Completion of an MSN and graduate level Certified Nurse-Midwife Program required
- 1-2 years' experience as a CNM and at least 2 years of nursing experience in labor anddelivery
- Experience as a First Assistant in C-sections preferred but be willing to learn and train
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse required
- Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and approved to practice as aNurse-Midwife in the state one works required
- BLS required per policy guidelines

Pay Range
$53.80 - $80.70
