The School of Nursing invites applications for part time (sessional) teaching positions to be offered in the 2025-26 academic year (fall and winter sessions).
JOB AND ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
The applicant will be responsible for teaching clinical courses in the McMaster BScN educational program.
Sessional instructor teaching responsibilities vary depending on the course, and may include providing clinical instruction and supervision within an acute care setting, and overseeing the administrative components of the course, (e.g., grading and completing student evaluation measures, holding office hours, and managing student accommodations). The vacancies are tentative, pending final course determinations and enrollment.
Course Details
The courses in the BScN Program curricula introduce nursing students to clinical and theoretical topics where students expand their knowledge of core nursing concepts.
Compensation
The Teaching Stipend per course (per term) ranges between $5500 – $10,200, depending on the clinical course taught. The weekly hours of work will be discussed during the recruitment process and are course specific.
Required Qualifications
- A BScN degree is required for all instructor positions.
- A MSc degree is preferred.
- Clinical experience in an obstetrical/maternal health or pediatric unit is preferred.
- Those able to accept assignments based in the Hamilton, Halton, or Brant region are preferred.
- The successful candidate will have previous experience teaching similar courses at the university level and/or appropriate academic qualifications.
- Eligible candidates must be registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
