Led by Dr. Chandra Spring-Robinson, a board-certified gynecologic surgeon and regional leader in robotic-assisted excision of endometriosis, our practice is redefining women's healthcare in Southern California. We specialize in complex GYN surgery, advanced diagnostics, and fertility-preserving treatment for conditions like endometriosis, fibroids, and pelvic pain. We also welcome patients seeking high-quality general gynecologic care. Our clinic blends advanced surgical expertise with compassionate, full-spectrum women's health services in a high-volume, referral-based environment.

Position Summary
The PA will provide both clinical and surgical support, including preoperative evaluations, intraoperative assistance in robotic and minimally invasive procedures, and comprehensive postoperative care. You will work directly with Dr. Spring-Robinson and a high-functioning clinical support team. Candidates should thrive in fast-paced environments and bring a proactive, organized, and compassionate approach to patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Surgical Support:
- Assist in gynecologic surgeries, including robotic and minimally invasive procedures.
- Provide intraoperative support, such as instrument handling, tissue dissection, suturing, and other technical tasks as delegated by the surgeon.
- Monitor patient vitals and ensure adherence to sterile techniques during surgical procedures.
- Participate in the preparation and maintenance of surgical equipment and supplies.
Clinical Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive gynecologic health assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and treat common gynecologic conditions under the supervision of a physician.
- Perform in-office procedures such as IUD placements, endometrial biopsies, and colposcopies (training provided if needed).
- Manage preoperative evaluations and provide patient education regarding surgical and nonsurgical treatment plans.
- Oversee postoperative care, including wound management, follow-ups, and coordination of additional care as needed.
Administrative and Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Document patient care plans and progress in electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with organizational policies.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Licensure/Certification: Current Physician Assistant license and certification (NCCPA).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and clinical judgment
Preferred but Not Required:
- Experience in gynecology or women’s health
- Training or interest in robotic-assisted surgery (da Vinci)
- Previous experience with complex GYN, endometriosis, or fertility patients
- EMR proficiency
- Experience supporting or coordinating care for international or non-native English-speaking patients is a plus.
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and/or Spanish (including medical terminology) is strongly preferred to support future initiatives focused on improving access and care for linguistically diverse populations. This is not a job requirement, and all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
- Privileges at Scripps La Jolla Memorial and/or Sharp Memorial is a plus
Work Schedule:
- Full-time position, with a mix of clinical office hours and operating room responsibilities.
- May require occasional evening or weekend hours based on surgical or clinical needs.
- Must be able to transport oneself between key clinic offices and hospitals.
- Clinics (subject to change): San Diego / La Jolla (primary), Encinitas, Murrieta (1-2 times per month)
- Hospitals (subject to change): Scripps La Jolla, Sharp Memorial, Sharp Mary Birch
