The Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic provides outpatient services to a diverse women’s health population. The majority of women receiving care in this clinic are accessing the services of the Maternal Fetal Medicine and/or Prenatal Diagnosis teams. Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists offer tertiary level obstetric care to women with complex medical disorders and to women experiencing maternal and/or fetal pregnancy complications . Prenatal Diagnosis specialists offer prenatal screening, diagnostic testing and genetic counseling to women during the antenatal phase of pregnancy. A “family centered” approach to care is fundamental to our service provision as we offer seamless care to women and their families.
As a member of the healthcare team, provides clerical, administrative or business support to patients, families and those providing service and/or care. The incumbent functions according to the job description for Business Clerks.
Monday to Friday; days
1. Grade 12 or equivalent
2. Graduate of community college secretarial or office administration program or equivalent or equivalent office experience
3. Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or demonstrated knowledge equivalent to the Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 acquired in a different Business Clerk position, which may be subject to testing
4. Keyboarding 40 w.p.m.
5. Demonstrated skill in HHS computer applications such as Meditech, Sovera, Peoplesoft
6. Mathematical skills related to payroll, budget and statistical documents
7. Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, public relations and problem solving skills
8. Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly
9. Experience dealing with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively
10. Ability to sit for long periods, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending
11. Experience with scheduling staff preferred
12. Experience with processing Doctors orders preferred
