The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced embryologist to join our dynamic laboratory team. The successful candidate will bring a deep commitment to patient care, technical excellence, and teamwork, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all clinical embryology and andrology tasks including
- Oocyte retrieval and denudation
- Conventional IVF and ICSI
- Embryo assessment, extended culture, assisted hatching
- Embryo and oocyte vitrification and warming
- Trophectoderm biopsy for PGT
- Embryo transfer preparation
- Semen preparation and general andrology support
- Ensure strict adherence to lab protocols
- Participate in equipment maintenance, quality control, and quality assurance procedures (daily, weekly, monthly logs)
- Accurately document clinical procedures in the EMR and patient records
- Mentor and support junior staff and participate in training activities
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards
- Maintain lab cleanliness and manage inventory and supplies
What We’re Looking For
- BSc or MSc in Biology, Biomedical Science, or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a clinical IVF laboratory
- Proficient in ICSI, embryo culture, vitrification, and embryo biopsy
- Strong understanding of quality systems and regulatory compliance
- Exceptional critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Certified by CFAS as an ART Lab Professional (preferred)
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time position based in Calgary, Alberta
- Participation in weekend and holiday rotations is required
