About The Role
The Women’s is Australia’s leading independent specialist hospital for women dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of women of all ages and cultures, and newborn infants. The Women’s is a major teaching hospital with strong affiliations to the University of Melbourne, with research and education integral to its role. The Women’s serves an annual cohort of 80,000 patients, delivering more than 7,000 babies. The Women’s is the tertiary referral centre for high-risk obstetric patients in Melbourne and further afield in the state of Victoria and Australia-wide.
A Clinical Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) at the Women’s offers comprehensive training across the full spectrum of MFM care including ultrasound, high-risk pregnancy and genetics, as well as opportunities to train in both clinical and basic research. As part of the Parkville Biomedical Precinct, there are excellent opportunities for training in multidisciplinary care of complex maternal medical and oncology patients, as well as medical and surgical neonatal care. There are two available positions accredited by RANZCOG for Certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine (CMFM) training, with the opportunities to support those starting their training in MFM, as well as elective opportunities for advanced trainees preparing for a subspecialty clinical and/or research career in MFM.
Experience/Qualifications/Competencies
About you
Preference will be given to candidates to accredited RANZCOG CMFM candidates.
Essential Criteria
- Primary medical degree MBBS or equivalent
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Completion of all core training requirements in the RANZCOG training program (or equivalent) is essential
- At least 5 years postgraduate Obstetrics and Gynaecology experience.
- FRANZCOG (or equivalent) preferable.
- At least basic obstetric ultrasound experience preferable, with formal obstetric ultrasound qualifications an advantage.

The Classification and Salary scale will be dependent on experience and you will be appointed and in accordance to the Australian Medical Association (Victoria) Doctors in Training Agreement 2022-2026.
