This role primarily focuses on admission documentation and initial patient assessments in the Emergency Department setting within 24 hours of admission and assist in medication administration and continuous assessment. This is an evolving role that plays a critical part in streamlining the admission process and ensuring accurate patient documentation.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial patient assessments upon admission to the ED.
- Complete and ensure timely admission documentation within 24 hours of patient admission.
- Capture images of the patient's skin using the Rover machine.
- Monitor the bed board for new admissions and track patient status and updates.
- Collaborate with the ED team to ensure comprehensive documentation and continuity of care.
- Assist in medication administration and continuous patient assessment as needed.
- Adapt to the evolving nature of the role, contributing to process improvements and workflow efficiencies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Communicates appropriate information regarding patient condition or unit concerns to other health care team members.
- Demonstrates caring practices by providing a compassionate and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
- Demonstrates awareness of legal issues and patients’ rights
- Documents patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consisten tmanner meeting all required and regulatory standards. This includes but is not limited to patient assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and patient safety.
- Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit/department-specific requisite skills.
- Prioritizes patient care in an ongoing manner in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care.
- Practices effective problem identification and resolution.
- Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage the unit/department.
- Respects diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers.
- Functions as a patient and family advocate.
Qualifications
Education/Training
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Proficiency with Epic
- Strong attention to detail and ability to efficiently document patient assessments.
Licensure/Certification
- Maintains current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLCmultistate RN license
- Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
Experience
1 year of Acute Care RN experience required
