Our team is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Assistant to join our extraordinary lab team.

Responsible for performing selected laboratory and clinical support services in accordance with Clinical and Laboratory Procedure Manuals. In addition, participates in coordination of clinical with laboratory services, and promoting and maintaining laboratory philosophy and performance standards.

Duties:

Assures proper sample collection, delivery and identification
Processes requisitions, test reports and test records in a timely manner
Performs safe handling of specimens by following the safety guidelines for biohazardous, infectious and toxic substances in the Endocrinology and laboratory
Documents quality assurance (QA) activities including assessment of problems and appropriate corrective action
Performs daily/weekly / periodic quality control (QC) for procedures and equipment used in the IVF/Andrology / Endocrinology Labs and Cryoroom
Performs endocrinology testing (hormone assays) and reports results under supervision of technical supervisor and/or physician (or his/her designee)
Performs routine maintenance checks, adjustments, calibrations, QC/QA activities for Immunoassay analyzer, under supervision of licensed person
Interfaces with endocrinology technical support staff for problem solving
Performs endocrinology proficiency testing required by the College of American Pathology (CAP
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and precision in all laboratory activities
Collect, record, and analyze experimental data
Assist in the development and implementation of research protocols
Conduct quality control checks to ensure compliance with CGMP, GLP, and FDA regulations
Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities and results

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Biology related major.
Must demonstrate skills and aptitude appropriate to the position.
Must demonstrate an ability to function effectively without direct supervision and to perform laboratory services in accord with the laboratory philosophy and operating standards.
Must have ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
Must have knowledge of office procedure and office machines (i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc.)
Must have ability to communicate accurately and concisely in English

Skills:

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficient in using laboratory equipment and software applications
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
