We are seeking a passionate and experienced CMC 2 to join our dynamic team of midwives. This is an excellent opportunity to provide clinical leadership, expert guidance and strategic direction in one of the largest tertiary birthing facilities in the state.

What You'll Be Doing
The Clinical Midwife Consultant (CMC) Birthing Services is essentially that of a consultant, comprised of five domains of practice. The role incorporates the components of clinical service and consultancy; clinical leadership; research; education and clinical services planning and management. In close collaborations with the multi-disciplinary team the CMC will provide clinical leadership, support, and advice across the service. As an advanced practice midwife with expert knowledge and skills, the CMC will contribute to the decisions and debate within professional associations. The CMC will improve and maintain their professional level of expertise, promote the role as a progressive and essential component of midwifery practice. The CMC is responsible for the development of Midwifery practice within Westmead Hospital to ensure high quality of service delivery in line with current trends in maternity care.

Essential Criteria
Registration: Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife
Selection Criteria
- Current midwifery registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with approved postgraduate midwifery qualifications relevant to the field or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate
- Minimum of 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in Midwifery
- Demonstrated achievement of evidence-based policy and procedures development using a multidisciplinary approach
- Demonstrated commitment to women centred midwifery and awareness of contemporary midwifery issues and future directions
- Demonstrated ability to develop, plan and implement evidence-based practice and research projects
