Director of Global Medical Engagement

As our new Director of Global Medical Engagement, you will spearhead the development and implementation of our strategy and roadmap for effective medical communication with thought leaders through omnichannel engagement.

Ferring + you
In this broad-scope role, you will report directly to our VP of Global Medical Excellence (based in the US) and be a part of her international leadership team, which includes peers in Real World Evidence, Scientific Communication, Operations and Systems, Medical Information, and Integrated Evidence Generation.
Your primary contribution will be to create the medical model for customer engagement that provides internal and external stakeholders with customized content and channels to provide medical information and education, further establish relations, and augment customer experience for maximal scientific impact and value.
Your day at Ferring
Drawing on your extensive experience mentoring, motivating, and developing team members, you will lead a global team of six, including roles in learning and development, omnichannel engagement, congress planning and management, patient engagement, and field medical excellence.
You will be responsible for the strategic insight and tactical support for medical engagement activities across geographies and therapeutic areas, establishing your department as a center of excellence for planning and executing engagement activities.
Key tasks will be to create and oversee the roadmap for continued impactful medical external engagement and to implement harmonized and agile ways of working. Among your responsibilities will also be to:
- Evolve HCP engagement models within digital capabilities roadmap and customer journeys to effectively implement medical omnichannel engagement
- Liaise with cross-functional field medical teams to ensure alignment and identify synergies across patient, provider, and payor engagement activities
- Embed insights and evidence from patient engagement throughout the entire value chain in alignment with the overall strategy
- Lead your department to ensure that the structure, support model, and allocation of resources meet the anticipated workload and project complexity
- Oversee budget planning and tracking

Your diverse background also includes:
- Extensive medical affairs experience at a global level – including several years in medical affairs and/or medical excellence
- An advanced scientific degree
- Experience developing strategies and operationalizing key tasks
- Proven leadership, people development, and mentoring skills
- Hands-on experience communicating and engaging in scientific exchange with thought leaders
- The ability to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory guidelines governing commercial and scientific interactions with healthcare professionals and other business partners
