The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) is the leading standards body responsible for the training and education of specialists and GP obstetricians in obstetrics and gynaecology in Australia and New Zealand.

Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity
Reporting to the Governance & Legal Lead, this fast-paced role works collaboratively to provide support to the Board, President and CEO with all activities relating to legislative, regulatory, contractual and legal matters. This position is a 12-months fixed term role based at our Djeembana office located on Bowen Crescent, Naarm (Melbourne, 3004).
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing support to the Lead Governance and Legal, in facilitation and effective and efficient delivery of all activities pertaining to administrative functions associated with the Governance and Legal office, and as directed by the CEO.
- Setting up and management of elections process, in compliance with relevant RANZCOG policies and regulations including Presidential, Board, Council, Diplomates Committee, Regional and Te Kāhui Oranga ō Nuku Committees, Trainees’ Committee and Subspecialties Committee.
- Provide assistance to the Governance and Legal Lead with initial review of policies (except education related policies) and management of the policy register.
- Management of the central registry of charts, Terms of Reference for committees and working parties.
- Assistance with organisation of Annual General Meeting and Governance and Legal Office related committee meetings that involves assessment of conflict of interest and compilation of complex confidential documentation.
- Provide day to day general administrative support (including minute taking, correspondence, photocopying, scanning and other administrative tasks).
- Other duties as directed by the Lead Governance and Legal Advisor, Manager of Governance and Legal and the CEO

The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in providing administrative support within a health or compliance environment handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Experience in applying policies and procedures in a regulatory environment.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and an eye for detail and accuracy, particularly regarding election related notifications and preparation of correspondence.
- Superior time management skills and the ability to use initiative and foresight to meet deadlines and set priorities.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- A positive and flexible attitude to workplace responsibilities, with demonstrated initiative and a capacity to work independently and as a member of a team in an environment that deals with sensitive and confidential information.
- Experience and/or an interest in and commitment to issues concerning women's health and familiarity with a health-related service/workplace and health-related workforce and policy issues.
- Resourcefulness and resilience - an approachable and tactful manner.
- Proficient use of common computer applications, including MS Office, databases with an ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
