THE ROLE
As a Policy and Program Officer in the Office for Women, you will play a key role in supporting work to improve outcomes for Victorian women. This includes developing policy and implementing programs to drive cultural change and public sector leadership on gender equality, and strengthen women's health, wellbeing, economic equity, safety and access to leadership.
The role requires you to be a proactive self-starter with an understanding of government processes and an ability to work in a complex, sensitive and fast-paced environment. You will support a range of projects and core portfolio functions, including program management, preparation of a range of written products, policy development and coordination tasks. The role also requires high levels of adaptability and resilience, and a commitment to contributing to a professional and supportive work environment.
We recognise diversity is critical to our team's success in embedding an intersectional gender lens across government and in the broader Victorian community. We strongly encourage First Nations people, people of colour, people with disability, LGBTIQA+ people and men to apply.
We are looking for candidates that demonstrate strong policy, analytical and communication skills coupled with an ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively in a team environment. Experience in program management and social policy will be a strong advantage.

- Prepare high quality briefings, correspondence, cabinet submissions, advice and other written products.
- Coordinate and provide advice to the Minister for Women, the Secretary and senior officers on gender equality and related policy issues, including Cabinet submissions and initiatives proposed by departments and agencies.
