Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity
This 12-month fixed term contract is based in our Melbourne office located close to public transport and onsite parking available. Reporting to the Lead Business Analyst, this position will work with stakeholders and the technical team to gather requirements and produce high-quality reports and dashboards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an effective relationship with stakeholders to understand their reporting and analytics needs
- Provide support and guidance to stakeholders in the interpretation of reports and analytics
- Develop fit-for-purpose reports, dashboards, and visualisations to enable data-driven decision-making
- Analyse data and apply data management/modelling techniques to improve data quality
- Support the development team on data migration activities
- Support the project team on manual testing activities
Skills and Experiences:

Technical Skills:
- Experience creating interactive and insightful data visualizations using Power BI.
- Experience with data manipulation, data cleaning, and analysis within Excel.
- Experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server).
- Ability to translate complex data into easy-to-understand charts and dashboards for diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in manual testing of data-driven applications, reports, and dashboards to ensure they meet business requirements and data accuracy.
- Experience in planning, executing, and validating data migrations from legacy systems to new platforms or databases.
- Familiarity with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and data integration tools such as Postman.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language for data analysis (e.g., Python, R).
Analytical Skills:
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders and project team to define new reports, dashboards and other business intelligence
- Ability to understand business processes and translate them into actionable data-driven insights.
- Ability to communicate complex analysis in a clear, actionable manner to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to apply analytical techniques to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive business decisions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to draw conclusions from data to solve business problems.
- Knowledge of statistical methods and techniques (e.g., regression analysis, hypothesis testing, A/B testing) and their application in data analysis.
Soft Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as marketing, finance, and IT.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail to identify inconsistencies and ensure that the migration or testing results are correct.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work standards.
- Willingness to stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics.
- Proactive in seeking ways to improve processes, tools, or techniques.
