As our HR Coordinator, you’ll help create a seamless employee experience by keeping our people operations running smoothly across hiring, onboarding, training, engagement, health & safety, and HR systems.
What you’ll do:
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Support hiring and onboarding, and manage end-to-end onboarding and orientation, including system setup, access/equipment coordination, onboarding schedules, and onboarding checklist completion.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with department leaders, and external vendors to keep people operations running smoothly across sites.
- Benefits & Payroll Support: Support benefits and payroll administration, manage routine payroll/benefits questions, and prepare employment letters and standard HR documentation.
- Employee Support & Coordination: Act as a first point of contact for HR questions, coordinate HR processes, and escalate sensitive issues to leadership.
- Training & Compliance: Coordinate required training, maintain training and certification trackers, coordinate learning session logistics, and support onboarding training plans.
- Health & Safety: Support basic health & safety, schedule and participate in monthly Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings, taking minutes and following up on action items.
- HR Systems & Records: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, serve as the day-to-day administrator for our HRIS system, and perform routine data audits for accuracy and compliance.
- Culture & Engagement: Support employee communications, engagement initiatives and assist with coordinating employee events and recognition programs.
As an HR Coordinator, you are:
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and known for strong follow-through
- A clear, professional communicator with strong emotional intelligence
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable solving problems independently
- Systems-minded and tech-comfortable (HRIS, forms, trackers)
- Service-oriented and collaborative, working well with leaders and cross-functional teams
- Flexible and eager to pitch in within a fast-moving, growing environment
Qualifications & Experience:
- 1–3+ years of experience in an HR Coordinator, People Ops, HR Admin, or comparable operations/administrative role
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset
- Strong proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar) and/or Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain excellent attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using an HRIS (e.g., Humi, UKG, BambooHR, ADP, etc.) and strong comfort learning new systems quickly
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; confident supporting employees and managers with day-to-day questions
