About the role
The Financial Analyst work on-site at head office and leverages their knowledge of annual planning, quarterly forecasts, and monthly outlooks, which will be key to the coordination of various planning cycles. Responsibilities include improving the Company’s monthly and quarterly reporting; operating and cultivating data-driven planning processes; providing strategic analyses and recommendations; conducting variance analyses of systems, budgets, revenues, and expenses; investigating and explaining the reasons for variances and adjusting outlook models to reflect operational adjustments; supervising the establishment of long-range operating plans to support business initiatives; developing rolling forecast processes to ensure that resources are leveraged with maximum effectiveness; and using contemporary financial planning methods. Crucially, you will share the founder, Dr. Marjorie Dixon’s commitment to being the gold standard for successful reproductive health and fertility centres. Main Duties & Responsibilities
General
- Collaborates effectively with team members across departments

Role-Specific
- Ensure continuous improvement relating to internal reporting process and content of information provided
- Analyze current accounting procedures and recommend changes, and implement these upon approval
- Conduct variance analyses of systems, budgets, revenues, and expenses, and work with internal business partners on providing interpretations and actionable items
- Develop rolling forecast processes to ensure that resources are leveraged optimally
- Provide timely, accurate and operational reports to key stakeholders
- Collaborate with supervisor to develop and consolidate monthly forecasts and budgets
- Provide insight to stakeholders within and outside of team through fact-based analysis
- Perform timely month-end close and ensure that monthly accruals are recorded
- Prepare accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting of corporate expenditures
- Focus on driving process improvement initiatives
- Respond to ad-hoc requests for financial data and analysis, and identify and implement process improvements within finance and across business units
- Respond to inquiries from staff, by phone, via email, and in person
- Lead and monitor procurement process
- Follow Anova’s established accounting processes and comply with GAAP
- Establish and manage vendor relationships
- Support treasury management procedures to control and forecast cashflow
- Perform monthly inventory, account, and bank statement reconciliations
- Assist with patient billing and collections, as needed
- Provide detailed analyses and explanations of transactions
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data and prepare financial reports, including monthly variance analysis for P&L
- Prepare documentation for external auditors and support finance team members in preparing and reviewing submissions
- Assist with internal control evaluations and propose appropriate changes
- Ensure that records are current, correct, legible and traceable
- Attend Company events, training, meetings, briefings, and workshops
- Other duties as assigned related to Finance Department
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field, preferably Finance or Accounting
- MBA or Accounting/Finance qualification (CPA or CFA) highly desired
- At least three years of experience providing financial insights and analyses to non-finance stakeholders, using multiple data sources, and organizing workflow to meet deadlines
- Effective organizational, leadership, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel (including lookups, pivot tables, filters, sorting), Word, Outlook, and virtual meeting technology (Zoom, Teams)
- Outstanding math, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Pleasant telephone manner and strong sense of etiquette
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- In-depth understanding of P&L structure
- Superior interpersonal skills to work as part of multi-disciplinary team
- Able and willing to serve in and provide safe and inclusive environment to gender and sexually diverse patients (2SLGBTQIA+)
- Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Able to interact with various internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortable working with large data sets and ability to navigate data and deduce relevant insights
