We are searching for a talented Medical Assistant to join our OBGYN team at Heritage Women's Center in Brentwood, TN
Job Summary
We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting providers and ensuring smooth day-to-day clinical and administrative operations. The MA may be assigned to a specific provider or float between clinics as needed.
Responsibilities
Clinical
- Collect and document vital signs, medical history, and other clinical data
- Administer medications, vaccines, injections, and treatments (per TN scope of practice)
- Perform CLIA-waived testing (e.g., strep, glucose, pregnancy)
- Assist with minor procedures and patient education
- Ensure accurate and timely charting in the EHR
- Maintain clean, stocked, and safe exam rooms
Administrative
- Schedule appointments, labs, referrals, and authorizations
- Verify insurance, obtain pre-approvals, and handle patient prep instructions
- Follow up on diagnostic tests and ensure patients receive timely results
- Maintain equipment logs, safety checks, and medication inventory
Clerical
- Answer phones, respond to messages, and assist patients with scheduling and inquiries
- Fax, scan, and prepare documents for provider review
- Order and manage supplies and support day-to-day front desk tasks
Customer Service
- Greet patients and assist with any needs in a courteous and professional manner
- Promote a positive and patient-centered experience
- Uphold HMA’s mission, values, and standards of ethical conduct
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year experience as an MA
- Current CPR certification
- TN Driver’s License and insurance (if float position)
Preferred:
- Epic (EMR) experience
- Experience working in OB/GYN clinic
- Prior outpatient clinic or multi-specialty practice experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

Pay: $18.32 - $27.48 per hour
