Exceptional opportunities are available for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Midwife/Lactation Consultant to join the team at a prestigious private hospital in Sydney on a full-time or part-time basis.
ABOUT THE ROLE To succeed in the role as a Registered Midwife/Lactation Consultant, you will need to bring a genuine interest in caring for women and their families through the various stages of pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal care. You will be an experienced midwife with excellent communication skills and enjoy working in an inclusive and vibrant environment that values and supports our diverse families. While the Lactation Consultant will focus specifically on the breastfeeding experience for the family, they will also be responsible for providing breastfeeding education, guidance, and support to staff working within the Postnatal Ward, Birthing Unit, and Special Care Nursery.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS - Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife;
- Minimum of three years' relevant post registration qualifications;
- Demonstrated experience working in the provision of antenatal and post-natal midwifery services;
- Knowledge and application of quality improvement initiative using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including development of policies and guidelines;
- Ability to work effectively in a supportive team;
- Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised patient centred care;
- Having a professional manner when working with complex situations;
- Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skills;
- Flexibility to work a seven-day roster including night duty;
- IBCLC (lactation) certificate or working towards;
- Experience in Private Health Care (desirable).

REMUNERATION $35.46 - $49.79 per hour.
ABOUT THE FACILITY The hospital, located in Sydney's North West, is a busy 277-bed high acuity facility. The Women's Health Unit is a 43 bed post/antenatal/gynecology ward with 7 birthing suite rooms. Supporting this service is a 7 bed level 2 Special Care Nursery.
