Perinatologist – Calgary, Alberta, Canada or
Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Specialist
On behalf of our client, we are in search of a Perinatologist, or maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) specialist, to join an existing diagnostic imaging practice in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The client is a leading diagnostic radiology provider with sub-specialty trained radiologists that provide a complete range of diagnostic imaging, obstetrical and interventional services.
Qualifications
- Education: Completion of a medical degree, a residency in obstetrics and gynecology, and a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine
- Licensure: Must hold a valid medical license or be eligible for a License in Canada
- Ideally hold Board Certification: Current Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Maternal-Fetal Medicine is required
Key responsibilities
- High-risk pregnancy management: Providing both consultative and direct care for pregnancies with a higher risk of complications due to a mother's pre-existing condition, a new pregnancy-related condition, or a multiple gestation (e.g., twins or triplets).
- Advanced diagnostics and testing: Performing and interpreting detailed ultrasounds, fetal echocardiograms, and other advanced diagnostic tests to assess fetal health and screen for congenital disorders.
- Fetal intervention: In some cases, performing fetal interventions like fetal blood transfusions.
- Care coordination: Collaborating with general obstetricians, pediatricians, and other specialists to develop comprehensive care plans for complex cases.
- Postpartum care: Managing complications that may arise after delivery, such as infection or excessive bleeding.
- Research and education: Participating in research, clinical trials, and academic teaching, and staying up-to-date on the latest advancements in the field.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate and timely records of patient care in an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
This is a permanent, full-time and on-site role in Calgary, Alberta. The client is very accommodating with things like a potential start date and work schedule. The client may consider part-time or locum schedules.
Junior candidates may be offered a position as an Associate, with the opportunity to move into a Partner track. Associates are typically offered a competitive base salary, along with a generous compensation program.
Senior candidates may be offered Partnership (timeframe TBD). Partners are offered a percentage of billables in addition to a base salary.
This is a large and well-established business with a consistent flow of patients, allowing for a predictable schedule and billables.
