Nevada Center for Reproductive Medicine is seeking a Financial Counselor to join their team and support patients with financial guidance and services. Please note, this position is full time, Monday-Friday from 7:00am-4:00pm.
Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal, financial, benefit, and insurance information
Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients, coworkers, and management
Document accounts appropriately (Current EMR: nAble)
Meet with patients for financial consults:
Review fees, financial programs, financial packets, and insurance information
Answer all financial questions including payment deadlines
Provide consults for IVF/FET treatment cycle patients, some new patients, IUI, and general financial consults
Obtain and enter referrals, authorizations, and predeterminations for patients
Verify accurate benefits/eligibility, scan benefit pages, and notify patients
Conduct insurance benefit verification for all new patients within 3 days and for patients in treatment cycles; obtain necessary authorizations for surgeries and treatment cycles
Determine deposits and fees for procedures and treatment cycles; collect fees
Review financial history prior to cycle start and collect outstanding balances; escalate unresolved balances to Billing Manager/Supervisor and Physician
Provide financial letters for treatment cycles outlining fees
Obtain waivers for patients who choose not to use benefits or lack proper authorization
Communicate with patients and staff using Kennect, phones, voicemails, emails, Outlook, portal messaging, and EMR system tasks
Review loan programs with patients and communicate deposit or cycle fee requirements
Serve as a patient liaison to resolve billing issues and collaborate with billing, management, and front desk
Update master finance files with assistance from Administrator and Billing Manager
Work within a team setting: assist colleagues, communicate effectively, share knowledge
Work with assigned insurance carriers to resolve referrals, authorizations, and predeterminations
Review and interpret patient accounts
Follow policies, procedures, and credit/insurance legislation; advise management on required actions or changes
Contribute to team effort by maintaining rapport with front desk and other departments
Collaborate with clinical team to determine and communicate correct financial obligations
Assist front desk with scheduling, filing, scanning, patient portal setup, education, and phone calls; act as back-up as needed
Assist with administrative duties, projects, and support billing department
Perform other duties as assigned
