We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our OB/GYN Practice team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our healthcare providers and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.
Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Prepare patients for examinations and ensure their comfort.
- Take and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, weight).
- Assist physicians or nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens (e.g., blood, urine, swabs).
- Administer medications
- Prepare and sterilize exam rooms, equipment, and instruments.
- Provide patient education under supervision (e.g., medication instructions, aftercare).
- Manage supplies inventory and exam room stock-up
Administrative Duties
- Play the role of Front Office alternately.
- Check-in and check-out patient.
- Schedule patient follow up appointments at check-out
- Answer phone calls, check voicemails, and handle patient inquiries.
- Update and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system.
- Handle referrals and lab orders.
- Assist with coding for insurance purposes and billing.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
- More than 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant is required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate approach to patient care with strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in outpatient or urgent care settings is preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
