Perinatal Triple P Coordinator (Positive Parenting Program)

Salary Range: $57,346 - $75,266.62
This is an exempt (salaried) position. Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Internal equity consideration included an assessment of the applicant’s salary history and qualifications in comparison to the market rate and requirement for the job.
This role is on-site 5 days a week, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional evening and weekends events are required.
This role requires 30% travel. Vehicle is not provided. Mileage is reimbursed for business related travel.

POSITION SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Perinatal Triple P Coordinator is a multi-year grant-funded position within our Improving Community Outcomes for Maternal & Child Health (ICO4MCH) Program. The Perinatal Triple P Coordinator leads in implementation and evaluation of the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) with organizations and individuals serving children and youth ages 0 -5. Incumbent will collaborate across community agencies at the local and state levels regarding Triple P and promotion of child health.
Coordinator must be able to travel throughout the Mecklenburg and across the state as needed (includes quarterly out-of-town 3-day State meeting)
Position responsibilities will include:
Targeted recruitment to develop community partners and trainees with vested interest in the 0-5 population and parenting education
Public speaking/presentations providing Triple P Information Sessions, Seminars and Discussion Groups to stimulate community interest
Coordinating Triple P trainings
Planning and/or facilitating peer support and providing coaching to trained practitioners
Utilizing evaluation systems to measure progress of Triple P implementation
Assisting with sharing messaging on human lactation (breastfeeding) and preconception/interconception health to bridge ICO4MCH strategies
Implementing ‘Stay Positive’ media campaign in collaboration with Triple P International
Key Competencies
2+ years of Maternal and Child Health and/or parenting education experience
Comprehensive knowledge of child development.
Knowledge of health disparities and social determinants of health
Strong organizational, time management, and implementation skills
Knowledge of Quality Improvement and Implementation methodology
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent leadership skills and ability to influence without authority
Problem solving, conflict resolution, critical and strategic thinking and analytical skills
Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook skills
Ability to seek and utilize supervision to improve professional practice
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conduct outreach and community education by presenting information related to program area.
Assesses community needs to develop and prioritize programs.
Creates training and educational materials to be presented to the target audience in a variety of venues.
Disseminates information using various communication channels including websites.
Create content and messaging for department initiatives and activities.
May lead and coordinate the work of internal employee communication teams.
Markets program to enhance community awareness and engagement.
Coordinates events related to programs and services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Minimum of two years of public relations, communications, or related experience.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications or directly related field.

Licenses and Certifications
May require a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License
May need to obtain and maintain a Mecklenburg County Operator's Permit
Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors in Public Health, Sciences, Psychology, Communications; or related field
Eligible to obtain county driver’s permit upon hire.
Must have a car for use at work.
At least 1 year of public health experience preferred.
Experience teaching parenting skills preferred.
Four years of experience in public information dissemination, media relations and/or training.
Computer Skills
Must possess intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook skills
