Our Sacramento location is seeking a full-time, on site, 3rd Party Coordinator-RN or LVN. This role is an important part of our team and either a LVN or RN is required for this position.
The 3rd Party Coordinator is responsible for providing patient education, coordination, and scheduling for 3rd Party IVF/FET related services, e.g. Ovum Donor recipients and gestational carriers. Provides professional nursing care for '3rd Party' patients following established standards and practices. Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians.
Essential Functions
- Communicating and educating patients regarding treatment cycle requirements and process.
- Refers patients to medical specialists, legal, psychological and Ovum Donor/Surrogate agency resources.
- Works collaboratively with Ovum Donor Coordinator to assist in linking Ovum Donors and intended parents.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Ensuring all testing, and according to FDA guidelines, are completed prior to treatment cycle start and any abnormal findings are brought to the physician’s attention. Communicating normal and abnormal results to patients.
- Responsible for confirming all legal contracts, medical consents and psychological testing is in place prior to cycle start.
- Ensuring completed treatment cycle orders are in the EHR.
- Implements and follows medication regimens, per standing order protocols, and physician direction.
- Ensuring insurance authorizations are in place for treatment cycles.
- Prep treatment cycle documentation: IVF and/or FET temp charts.
- Arranging for all treatment cycle related appointments.
- Providing emotional support to patients and family members.
- Liaison to physicians for patients’ clinical questions and issues.
- Collaboratively oversees FDA requirements for donor tissue testing and general program compliance.
- Collaboratively initiates and updates SOP protocols, generates documents to support interdepartmental communication and compliance.
Facilitates QA audits of 3rd Party charts and reviews SOP protocols with physicians.
- Cover the Operating Room as needed, as licensed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience: Minimum of one-year professional nursing experience; clinic and/or 3rd Party experience strongly preferred.
Requirements: RN, LVN or 3 years as a Fertility Cycle Coordinator may be considered.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations and practice to give and evaluate patient care.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality.
- Knowledge of medical chart documentation and records.
- Knowledge of basic REI concepts and protocols.
- Knowledge of OR procedures and protocols.
