Our Sacramento location is seeking a full-time, on site, IVF Coordinator-RN or LVN. This role is an important part of our team and either a LVN or RN is required for this position.
General Summary of Duties: Responsible for providing patient education, coordination, and scheduling for IVF/FET related services. Provides professional nursing care for IVF patients following established standards and practices. Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians.
Essential Functions:
1. Communicating and educating patients regarding treatment cycle requirements and process.
2. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
3. Ensuring all labs are completed prior to treatment cycle start and any abnormal findings are brought to the physician’s attention. Communicating normal and abnormal results to patients.
4. Ensuring completed treatment cycle orders are in the EHR.
5. Implements and follows medication regimens, per standing order protocols, and physician direction.
6. Ensuring insurance authorizations are in place for treatment cycles.
7. Prep treatment cycle documentation: IVF and/or FET temp charts.
8. Arranging for all treatment cycle related appointments.
9. Providing emotional support to patients and family members.
10. Liaison to physicians for patients’ clinical questions and issues.
11. Cover the Operating Room as needed, as licensed.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Experience: Minimum of one-year professional nursing experience; clinic experience preferred.
Requirements: RN, LVN or 3 years as a Fertility Cycle Coordinator may be considered.
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations and practice to give and evaluate patient care.
2. Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality.
3. Knowledge of medical chart documentation and records.
4. Knowledge of basic REI concepts and protocols.
5. Knowledge of OR procedures and protocols.
Skills:
1. Math skills sufficient to correctly mix injections, interpret tests, etc.
2. Skill intact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
3. Skill in understanding of patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families.
