Women's Services (OB) RN
Shift: 7p-7a, rotating weekends, 36 hours
Duration: 8 weeks
- Must have labor room and postpartum experience
- Nursery trained and labor room trained.
- Level 1 nursery
- 1+ years experience
- NY license in hand
- BLS, ACLS, NRP required
- Prefer fetal monitoring certification, but not required
- Level 1 maternity and nursery. Do care for GYN, female ortho, and female bariatrics as census allows
- 5 labor rooms, nursery, and 8 postpartum beds
Drips and Medications: Pitocin, magnesium, routine fluids, OB specific medications
- EMR: Meditech and GE
- Specialty equipment: GE and Phillips fetal heart rate monitors
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate OB/GYN Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to women throughout their reproductive health journey, including prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient education, advocacy, and support while working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and physical examinations.
- Assist in prenatal care, including monitoring fetal development and maternal health.
- Provide education on family planning, reproductive health, and wellness.
- Administer medications and perform procedures such as IV insertion and suturing.
- Support patients during labor and delivery, ensuring a safe environment for both mother and child.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in patient triage and manage acute care situations as needed.
- Educate patients on post-operative care and recovery processes.
- Stay current with best practices in obstetric nursing and participate in ongoing professional development.
