Med/Surg RN Job Details – Charlotte, NC
- Location: Charlotte, NC 28203 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
- Facility: Large teaching hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/3/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1470 - $1570
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday Coverage: 75% of holidays required
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Parking: Free on-site parking
Med/Surg RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (NC or compact state)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience
- Proficient in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, PCA pumps, medication gtt management (including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF)
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Willingness to float to Med/Surg and Telemetry units within region and scope of practice
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, CHF, trauma, stroke, and more
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac drips, and respond to patient condition changes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams (CNAs, secretaries, charge nurses, phlebotomists, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, intensivists)
- Float to various Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed
- Participate in departmental and facility orientation
- Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
- Provide patient and family education and support
