Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accuracy in coding and compliance with regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures to facilitate efficient revenue cycle management.
As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for preparing, submitting, and following up on insurance claims for services rendered. You will ensure all billing is accurate and complies with payer requirements while working collaboratively with other departments to resolve any billing issues or discrepancies.
Responsibilities
- Review and process patient information and medical records for accurate billing.
- Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies both electronically and by paper. Follow up on any outstanding payments.
- Conduct medical collections as necessary while maintaining professionalism and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and clarify any medical records issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations and best practices.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems effectively to manage patient data and billing processes.
- Ensure timely submission of claims to maximize revenue collection.
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
- Correct and re-submit rejected claims as necessary
- Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts
- Generate patient statements and respond to billing inquiries
- Work with insurance companies to resolve issues related to coverage and reimbursement
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations
- Stay up to date with changes in billing regulations and insurance requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience in a _____ healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Understanding of insurance guidelines, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS)
- Experience with [specialty] billing
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Pay: $23.50 - $26.50 per hour
