Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented dual trained Medical Assistant/ Receptionist to join our OB/GYN team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within our medical facility, providing exceptional patient service and administrative support. This position requires both front office and medical assistant experience. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient care processes, and proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Experience in OB/GYN is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient intake efficiently.
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist healthcare provider with hands on patient care, including triage, office procedures and drawing blood.
- Monitor and manage the flow of patients within the clinic or hospital setting.
- Perform basic life support when necessary and assist with vital signs intake.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care plans and follow-up appointments.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure seamless patient care, including outpatient and inpatient services.
- Stay updated on medical terminology, ICD coding, anatomy, physiology knowledge, and relevant clinical procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office is required.
- Experience with OB/GYN is preferred.
- Knowledge of EHR systems, preferably ECW is required.
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to provide outstanding patient service and foster a welcoming environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
