Job Description Summary
Tenure track appointments are full-time with an initial probationary period of seven years. Criteria for promotion includes significant achievements in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. The award of tenure is based on potential for sustained contributions, performing beyond expected duties, and demonstrating leadership and innovation in activities that enhance the reputation of the University.
The Clinical Scholar Track is for full-time faculty members who are heavily involved in clinical service, education, and related scholarship. This track has two career paths: Clinician-Educator concentrating on teaching and Clinician-Investigator for concentrating on research/scholarship. Significant contributions in professional and academic service are required for both paths.
The selected physician will join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The faculty will join a robust team of 20 residents, maternal-fetal medicine and gynecologic oncology fellows and over thirty faculty to provide evidence-based quality care. As a member of the Specialist Division, the faculty will provide care on labor and delivery that would include supervision of residents and students as well as consultation to certified nurse midwives. The ambulatory practice includes care in outpatient private clinics, supervision of resident clinics and coverage of community-based clinics. The position provides a competitive benefits package. Job Description
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- The selected physician will join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- The faculty will join a robust team of 20 residents, maternal-fetal medicine and gynecologic oncology fellows and over thirty faculty to provide evidence-based quality care.
- As a member of the Specialist Division, the faculty will provide care on labor and delivery that would include supervision of residents and students as well as consultation to certified nurse midwives.
- The ambulatory practice includes care in outpatient private clinics, supervision of resident clinics and coverage of community-based clinics.
- Ambulatory care and inpatient care, including night and weekend Labor and Delivery and gynecology coverage.
- Provide attendance and presentation at student, resident and fellowship teaching conferences.
- Guide and assist the house staff and students in preparing talks for meetings, in writing publications, and in conducting and presenting the results from research projects.
- Be an example of an academic physician by conducting clinical research in the Division. Support the other scholarly activities of the School.

License
Required Qualifications:
- Board certified or active candidate in obstetrics and gynecology, eligible for Kansas medical license.
