Job Description
This position will support various cervical screening studies under the supervision of
Dr. Aisha Lofters. The
Research Assistant will primarily support a systematic review that looks at education strategies for implementing HPV self-sampling for cervical screening, in addition to supporting other projects within the team.
- Some understanding of research design and research ethics
- Responsible for conducting communication with participants, answering questions or concerns via telephone, online, or in-person
- Prepares detailed notes of all interactions with participants
- Completes data entry and quality control ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data collection; may investigate missing or invalid data and prepare data sets
- Help maintain research files to store, access, and retrieve study data as specified at one or more sites
- Communicates with Research Manager and Principal Investigator to provide updates
- Schedules and attends research meetings, including preparing agendas and meeting minutes
- Prioritizes and monitors various study deadlines for their own work
- Provides other administrative support as required, including filing, photocopying, acquiring signatures and CV maintenance
- May assist team members with preparing materials for proposals, progress reports, presentations, and publications
- May assist team with preparing and submitting research ethics submissions

Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field
- Some experience in a health research setting preferred
- Experience with literature searches and Covidence.
- Subject matter knowledge of cervical screening, including HPV testing and self-sampling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Work efficiently under pressure with strong judgement and decision-making skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Well-developed interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Mastery of MS Office applications including Excel, Outlook, Access and Word an asset
- Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance will be considered as part of the selection criteria
- Proven attendance and punctuality.
- Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital
