Job Overview/Summary
We are seeking a skilled and autonomous Sonographer to join our team. The role involves conducting unsupervised scanning sessions and delivering high-quality ultrasound services. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, while also collaborating closely with modality and ultrasound leads to ensure patient safety and efficient service delivery. This role requires a commitment to continuous learning and support for service development and training initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide independent, unsupervised ultrasound scanning services.
- Collaborate with modality and ultrasound leads to maintain a safe and efficient ultrasound service.
- Support training and development of students and colleagues.
- Participate in audit and clinical governance activities.
- Engage in CPD and relevant training to maintain and enhance professional skills.
Primary Skills
- BSc Hons Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent.
- State registration and evidence of CPD.
- Extensive experience in General Medical, Obstetric, Doppler, Gynaecological, and Transvaginal ultrasound.
- Proficient in autonomous working and independent reporting.
- Experience in supervising and training students.
Secondary Skills (Good To Have)
- Accreditation with Foetal Medicine Foundation or DQASS for Nuchal Translucency (NT) scans.
- Training in "Breaking Bad News" or equivalent.
- Postgraduate training in breast, MSK, or vascular ultrasound.
Qualifications
- BSc Hons in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound.
- Valid and current registration.
- Strong portfolio of CPD evidence.
