Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to join our team. With the growth of providers within our group, team is growing. We are looking to add a 3rd surgery scheduler to our current surgery scheduling team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling surgeries, managing patient records, verifying insurance authorizations/coverage and ensuring all medical procedures are carried out efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule surgeries with patients, physicians, and healthcare professionals in a timely manner.
- Manage and update patient records, including medical histories and test results, in a secure electronic health record (EHR) system such as Epic and Athena.
- Utilize coding knowledge to accurately assign medical codes and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide exceptional patient care and support, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Maintain a high level of organization, ensuring that all scheduled surgeries are properly documented and that patient information is up-to-date and accurate.
- Work effectively with the surgical team to ensure that all procedures run smoothly and that any last-minute changes are communicated promptly.
- Use medical receptionist skills to handle phone calls, greet patients, and manage front office administrative tasks.
- Utilize computerized systems, including Athena and Epic to streamline scheduling and patient information management.
- Manage provider on call through WebOnCall and AMBS
-Perform other administrative tasks as required, including filing and data entry.
Experience
- Previous experience as a surgery scheduler or medical receptionist is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical coding, including ICD-10 and CPT, is required.
- Experience with electronic health record systems, such as Athena and Epic, is an asset.
- A background in health information management is preferred.
- Familiarity with computerized scheduling systems is essential.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and organizational skills are necessary to excel in this role.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
