Overview
This role is responsible for overseeing the pediatric nursing team, managing day-to-day clinical operations, and ensuring the provision of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- I consistently follow the division’s policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, ensuring high-quality care and compliance at all times.
- I actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
- I participate in team meetings, maintain professionalism, uphold confidentiality, and complete performance evaluations and documentation as required.
- I deliver patient-centered care by conducting timely assessments, updating care plans, and providing education and support to patients and their families.
- I administer medications and treatments safely, following established protocols, while monitoring patients’ responses and maintaining accurate documentation.
- I support team development by mentoring new staff, managing clinical operations in the absence of leadership, and contributing to staff performance management and appraisals.
- I collaborate with the line manager to ensure optimal staffing, coordinate nursing services, and maintain readiness for accreditation and regulatory inspections.
- I engage in strategic planning, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives, while also supporting shared governance and caregiver engagement.
- I maintain professional growth through continuous education, CME compliance, skills development, and active participation in internal training programs.
- I lead by example through evidence-based practice, effective communication, inter-professional collaboration, and a commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Midwifery, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a senior or charge nurse role in pediatrics in a large hospital setting.
