General Purpose of Job:
To communicate efficiently and effectively with physicians to maintain schedules with patient visits and patient surgery. Submit documentation to other departments to predetermine patient medical procedures in coordination with insurance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following; additional responsibilities may be required:
· Submit hospital census to GCTC coordinators daily and twice on Friday.
· Communicate with insurance companies to verify benefits for surgery/procedures.
· Obtain pre-certifications and prior-authorizations as needed.
· Fax information to medical records and insurance.
· Communicate with physicians, staff, different departments, etc.
· Communicate with physicians regarding patient information.
· Schedule surgeries/office procedures with appropriate physician.
· Communicate with Surgery Scheduling at Providence Hospital and Springhill Hospital.
· Communicate with patients their surgery information as well as surgical benefits.
· Manage/schedule patient surgeries and pre-op/post-op.
· Obtain surgical clearance when needed from other providers.
· Manage physician schedules.
· Notify physicians and staff with any changes to schedule.
· Post/Submit surgical charges to insurance companies and follow up with unpaid insurance claims.
· A/R, follow up on unpaid claims and patient balances as needed.
· Daily email the physicians and staff surgery schedule/inpatient hospital list.
· Properly operate computer applications: Microsoft Office; etc.
· Properly submit patient information into computer.
· Updox fax system as needed.
· The daily deposit as needed.
· Post daily fee tickets as needed.
· Schedule rep lunches.
Credentialing ongoing updates as well as for new onboarding physicians.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
This position does require some form of extensive related experience. This position does not have education requirements.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret forms, documents, and insurance claims. Ability to properly communicate with co-workers, physicians, and additional departments. Ability to communicate with patients regarding their schedules and what is required of them.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to use basic mathematical skills along with properly predicting times for specific individuals including physicians, staff, and patients and their corresponding needs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to properly understand instructions and how to effectively implement them. Ability to decide between larger and small surgeries due to the requirements of having potential assistant doctors for specific procedures.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
This position varies with related certifications and licenses. Continuing education as required by Mobile OB-GYN.
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit in front of computer terminal for extended period of time each day. Ability to walk back and forth between physician and other offices as required to communicate with staff.
Work Environment:
Moderate noise (copier, printers, communication around offices, light traffic).
Additional Information:
Must work independently with little or no supervision. Positive attitudes are required.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
