It is a very exciting time for our Maternity Services at Newham University Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust providing maternity care to women/birthing people and families from the local population and surrounding areas, as we rise to meet the challenges of today’s changing maternity climate. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, dedicated dynamic, flexible, forward thinking NIPE trained midwife passionate about being part of the midwifery led NIPE clinic. By contributing to the running of this clinic alongside and support the neonatal led NIPE clinic.
If you are passionate and working collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team with the aim of providing high quality care this is the opportunity for you.
- To support the neonatal team with NIPE screening for eligible babies
- To support the on-going implementation of SMaRT 4 NIPE and NHS England’s key performance indicators (KPI).
- Improve the screening pathways, and ensure prompt checks and referrals
- To lead the implementation of the Neonatal and Infant Physical Examination (NIPE) Screening pathway for midwives and to play a key role in the achievement of screening standards and quality of care.
- The post holder will oversee the delivery of the NIPE Screening programme across maternity and neonates supported by the screening coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for the midwifery part of the screening programme. This requires extensive knowledge of this programme and requires the post holder to be a qualified NIPE trained Midwife.
- The post holder will need to be able to work collaboratively with the neonatal team to implement robust pathways that support the completion and updating of records on NIPE smart.
- The post holder needs to have the ability to educate and assess others and the ability to initiate and participate in change and quality improvement
- The post holder will work collaboratively with the maternity governance team and contribute to the completion of Root Cause Analysis reports.
- The post holder will have to be computer literate and have skills in creating and maintaining databases. They need to be an expert in handling complex information and data.
