Come practice where your passion for women’s health and your heart for mentorship can thrive! Join our thriving private OB-GYN practice in beautiful Lynchburg, Virginia—an inviting, family-friendly city nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains—while also serving as clinical faculty at Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM), a faith-based institution committed to training the next generation of compassionate, Christ-centered physicians. This unique position offers a full spectrum, private ObGyn practice while academically leading as Ob/Gyn Chair / Clerkship Director at LUCOM. This is a perfect blend of private practice and academic medicine to teach and shape the next generation of students. With a low cost of living, excellent schools, outdoor recreation, and a strong sense of community, Lynchburg is the perfect place to grow professionally and personally.
Half your time will be spent as LUCOM Ob/Gyn Chair/Clerkship Director where you provide leadership and vision for your department, promoting excellence in education, research, and clinical practice. You oversee the education and training of medical students, develop and maintain the OB-GYN curriculum, and lead student assessments across all levels. You mentor and support faculty in their clinical, academic, and research roles, helping them grow as academic educators. You advise students pursuing OB-GYN, guide them through the residency application process, write letters of recommendation, and monitor their progress throughout rotations. You collaborate with LUCOM leadership, participate in institutional meetings, ensure accreditation compliance, and manage departmental budgets. You work to recruit and retain talented faculty and staff, engage with the community to promote women’s health, and maintain strong relationships with clinical sites. You also stay current with educational trends and support ongoing professional development, including involvement with national organizations such as APGO.
The other 50% of your time will be spent in clinical practice. With 10 physicians and 6 advanced practice providers, Women’s Health of Central Virginia has the support you need for a great career in a thriving community of medical professionals. Our physicians enjoy a 12 hr shift call schedule which allows for a well-balanced life. We work out of only one office and one hospital and do not have to deal with rushed transportation between locations. We are supported by a level 3 NICU, 24/7 in house anesthesia services, excellent ICU care and a synergistic hospital partner. You will benefit from collaborative support through consultation with University of Virginia physicians specializing in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Gynecologic Oncology who see patients at our hospital and are available to assist us in surgery. Our practice excels in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including advanced hysterectomy and pelvic prolapse procedures utilizing the Da Vinci robotic system.
Benefits include full-time employment, competitive salary based on experience, insurance coverage, student loan repayment, moving expense coverage, signing bonus and much more. Partnership track is available!
