Role Summary
The RN OR/PACU and clinic plays a pivotal role in coordinating and delivering patient-centered fertility care. The position is a hybrid role with OR/PACU responsibilities as well as clinic/fertility care. This position involves patient education, medication instruction, treatment planning, support during procedures, and close collaboration with physicians and staff to guide patients through all phases of assisted reproductive treatment.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and supplies in the operating room.

Ensure proper patient identification, consent verification, and preoperative safety checks prior to procedures.

Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe intraoperative care and effective communication.

Continuously monitor patient vitals and anesthesia status during procedures, alerting the team to any changes.

Provide hands-on postoperative care including airway management, pain control, and monitoring for complications.

Document operative and postoperative events clearly and accurately in the medical record.

Educate patients and families about preoperative preparation and postoperative care instructions.

Participate in regular simulation and training on emergency response protocols for the surgical suite.

Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients' medical history and fertility health.

Educate and support patients through fertility treatments including IUI, IVF, FET, and egg vitrification.

Provide clear instructions on fertility medications, procedures, and self-administration techniques.

Coordinate and schedule patient procedures and diagnostic testing; obtain necessary consents.

Monitor patient progress and communicate updates with the clinical team.

Document patient care accurately in the EMR, including medication instructions, test results, and progress notes.

Perform intrauterine inseminations (IUIs) and assist physicians during procedures as needed.

Offer emotional support throughout the treatment journey and serve as a liaison between patient and provider.

Verify compliance with infection control and documentation standards.

Support quality assurance efforts and contribute to continuous improvement in patient care.
Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, non-exempt, on-site position based in Dedham, Massachusetts.

Hourly wage: $45 to $60, depending on qualifications and experience.

Requirements:
- Associate degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited institution.

Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license, in good standing.

ACLS certification required

Minimum of 4 years RN experience; 2+ years in PACU, OR, or surgical recovery experience required

OBGYN or fertility experience preferred

Proficient in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred but not required.

Proficient in EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent communication, organizational, and patient education skills.

Ability to work Monday–Friday, 7AM–3PM with some evening/night phone call coverage, occasional working weekends, or holidays as needed.
