Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Doula to provide support to individuals during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as excellent patient service skills. As a Doula, you will play a crucial role in helping families navigate the childbirth experience with confidence and care.
Responsibilities
- Provide emotional and physical support to clients throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journey.
- Assist clients in developing birth plans that align with their preferences and needs.
- Educate clients on childbirth processes, pain management techniques, and newborn care.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to guide clients through labor stages effectively.
- Offer continuous support during labor, including comfort measures such as breathing techniques (inhale) and positioning.
- Conduct patient assessments to monitor progress and ensure the well-being of both mother and baby.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Provide resources for postpartum recovery and newborn care education.
Experience
- Previous experience or training as a Doula is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pregnancy and childbirth is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability in patient service with excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to childbirth is highly valued.
- A compassionate demeanor with the ability to remain calm under pressure is crucial for this role.
