Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who would like to build or continue their career helping patients achieve their goals of growing their families. The Weekend Andrology and Endocrine Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing semen analysis, sperm thawing, IUI preps, and operation of the hormone assay machine within our fertility practice. This position is part time, weekends only. The role will average 8-16 hours per pay period, mainly on Sundays, with occasional coverage on Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities:

Performs semen analysis and IUI preps. Thaw sperm specimens for IUI.

Manages the daily start-up of the endocrine assay instruments and operates the hormone assay machine.

Ensure safe handling of specimens by following the safety guidelines of the laboratory.

Maintain laboratory equipment and calibrations and adhere to quality standards.

Sets up, calibrates, and cleans laboratory equipment to ensure proper functionality and accuracy.

Interfaces with our team of Physicians, patients, and fellow laboratory team members.

Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:

High school diploma required, and bachelor’s degree in sciences is preferred.

Experience in a laboratory environment is desired.

Relevant previous andrology / endocrine experience is a plus.

Previous healthcare, IVF, or Women’s Health experience is a plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must have a strong attention to detail with solid interpersonal skills.

Possess clear and effective communication skills, both verbally and written.

Drive for knowledge and ongoing desire to learn (we enjoy teaching and training new graduates and introducing them to our wonderful field)!

Or a post “retirement” position to stay active in a laboratory setting.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing while loading the hormone analyzer.

Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time (rarely).
