As an Administrator embedded in the Department of Medicine (full-time), or the Department of Pathology and Biomedical Science (full-time), or the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (part-time, 0.8FTE) at the University of Otago, Christchurch, you will join a team of professionals working across the campus within the Divisional Services and Administration Team.
You will become a trusted point of contact for a range of students, staff and visitors, so your strong customer service skills will be an advantage.
Key tasks of these roles include:
- Providing a wide range of administrative support including meeting support, diary management, correspondence and document management, and confidential records management.
- Coordinating undergraduate and/or postgraduate timetables, examinations and student results.
- Using University systems to update databases, extract data, provide reports, transcripts and other relevant information.
- Transactional financial processing including purchase card reconciliation, reimbursements, purchasing and invoicing.
- Providing course information and pastoral care support to students.
- Working collaboratively with team members across our different University campuses.

About our team/Mō te tīma
The Divisional Services and Administration Team on the Christchurch campus is made up of 40 highly skilled professionals responsible for delivering outstanding student and staff experiences through high quality, effective service delivery and administrative support. We are a strong, supportive whanau mahi (work family) who are proud of the work we do as the largest workforce in the university, spanning every corner of the motu.

We have three permanent positions available on our Christchurch campus:
The first position is full-time (37.5 hours per week, 1.0FTE), embedded in the Department of Medicine, situated in Christchurch Hospital.
The second position is full-time (37.5 hours per week 1.0FTE) embedded in the Department of Pathology and Biomedical Science, in our main campus building.
The third position is part-time (30 hours per week, 0.8FTE), embedded in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, situated in Christchurch Womens’ Hospital. Ideally hours would be worked across 5 days, with a preference for an 8.00am start time.
The appointment range for this role is $61,360 to $65,879. Top of the range is $71,150.
